DANTE ALIGHIERI
Born in Florence from Alighiero of Bellincione and from his first wife Bella (perhaps of the Abbots), under the astronomic sign of the Gemini between on May 21 and the 21 June of 1265, Dante died in Ravenna, after an exile quadrilustre, the night between 13 and September 14 th 1321. He lived therefore 56 years and four months; non brief age, but in front of which his multiform poetic industriousness, literary, civil, for ampleness and depth of affairs, for the reached vertexes of the art, it certainly appears prodigious, if you are thought that for the most greater part it surely goes situated in the years troubled of the exile, and you consider the complex wealth of motives and different experiences of it, rhetorics, polite, ethical-politics, feed of turned on doctrinal speculations. Don't speak then of the masterpiece - that Comedìa firmly matured in an admirable reductio to unum of a suffered life and lived - that is already by itself same expression incomparable of the medieval civilization, but together for some aspects it participates of that depth cultural renewal that will melt the new Humanism with the Petrarca and with the Boccaccio and it will open the doors to the modern civilization.
